26/05/08 - Radio interview on The Space Show - USA

Interview with Dr David Livingston on the SpaceShow. In the longest and most in -depth interview I have done to date you can find out the story behind each track on the album. Listeners sent in questions and called from Canada, the US, and the UK wanting to know my future music plans, how I composed space theme music and if I would be composing more space music.

19/04/08 - Music on the Sky at Night Podcast!

The BBC's Sky at Night magazine have just started a podcast featuring a version of 'Launch' from the album. In the first episode there's a reports from the 2008 Royal Astronomical Society’s National Astronomy meeting, the plans to upgrade Hubble, and the discovery of the youngest extrasolar planet ever found.

 

24/02/08 - New website!

A new version of the website is launched today! The site now features a blog, 'Notes from a musician', as well as a press kit section and more photos. Each page also lists alternative sites for purchasing the album from.

 

13/02/08 - Tracks available on the Podsafe network

'Parade', 'Deep Space Separation' and 'Pioneers' are now available for podcasters to use on their radio shows and podcasts

 

04/02/08 - 'Eleven' now on Amazon.com

The album can now be purchased as a digital download from Amazon.com.

 

26/01/08 - Video for 'Pioneers' in production

A promotional video is currently being storyboarded for the track 'Pioneers'.It is planned to be completed in April.

 

05/01/08 - 'Eleven' reviewed in Sound on Sound magazine

Came across a review of the album by Sound on Sound magazine. The reviewer said that the album would have made a good follow up to Air's "Moon Safari". I take that as a complement myself as I'm a great fan of Air!

 

03/01/08 - 'Eleven' used at the Hong Kong space convention

I am pleased to say the 'Eleven' was chosen as the soundtrack for a large space convention held in China by the Hong Kong Space Museum.

 

12/12/07 - Eleven featured on Dutch radio station 'Spacemusic'

Tracks from the album were played on this internet based radio station and podcast. Look for Season 3, Spacemusic 3.2. You can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes.

 

27/10/07 - Article in Guild of International Songwriters and Composers

My biography was featured in this quarters edition of Songwriting and Composing.

 

21/10/07 - 'Launch' on BBC Sky at Night magazine

The opening track from the album is featured on the cover CD of the November issue of the BBC's 'Sky at Night' magazine.

 

20/10/07 - In the Shadow of the Moon

This is a documentary by UK film director David Sington that tells the story of the Apollo program. The astronauts are interviewed and there is plenty never seen before footage from the missions straight from the NASA archives. Go and see it. It's wonderful. The score by Philip Sheppard is great too.

 

27/09/07 - 'eleven - live in London' Facebook group

July 2009 will mark the 40th anniversary of the moon landings and I want to mark the occasion by performing a big concert . I have started a group on Facebook as a way of collecting supporting for the idea and also attracting potential sponsors. Please join in! Also do write down your suggestions for a good (and unusual) venue.

 

20/09/07 - 'Notes from a musician' blog launched
Today I started my blog 'Notes from a musician'. I will be using this to record my progress in promoting the album and also logging down my thoughts and feelings (both good and bad) along the way. Hopefully it will be a useful record of an independent artist trying to make it happen!

 

03/09/07 - On the BBC!
I appeared today on BBC Radio Kent on the Pat Marsh show. We talked about 'eleven' and the whole Apollo mission itself as well as my musical background. 'Pioneers' was played.

 

24/08/07 - Semi-finalist of the UK Songwriting Contest 2007!
I'm pleased to say that 'Parade', the last track on the album, made it to the semi finals of this year's 2007 UK Songwriting contest. There were over 5,000 entries so I'm quite pleased. Shame it didn't get to the final though. Still, there's always next year!

 

23/08/07 - 'Launch' on November's 'Sky at Night' magazine cover CD
More news from the BBC. The editors at 'Sky at Night' magazine want to include 'Launch' on their cover CD.

 

20/08/07 - BBC interview set for 3rd September

24/07/07 - Album now available on iTunes!
Eleven is now available on iTunes. If fancy writing a review that would be fab!

 

20/07/07 Graham Smith to be interviewed by the BBC
Yep - I've been asked by the BBC to do a radio interview and play some tracks from the album on air. It's likely to be late August/early September. I'll keep you posted!

 

12/07/07 - Distribution to digital retailers
Eleven will soon be available on digital channels. CDBaby, the US site that distributes the CD, have sent the album to over 13 different digital distributors including iTunes and Napster.

 

30/06/07 - International Year of Astronomy 2009
Not only is 2009 the 40th anniversary since the moon landings, it's also the International Year of Astronomy. Loads of events are planned so check it out and get involved! I'm currently working on making sure 'Eleven' features in some way.
